Acadiana Christian snaps nine-game streak of wins at home


Acadiana Christian was the 4-3 winner over Good Samaritan HomeSchool when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Acadiana Christian Lions fell victim to a rough 17-6 defeat at the hands of the Good Samaritan HomeSchool Hornets on Tuesday. Acadiana Christian has now taken an ‘L’ in back-to-back games.

Addy Pellerin and Faith Woods did some serious damage despite the final result: Pellerin scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Woods scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

On Good Samaritan HomeSchool’s side, Kinley Fife made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off only two hits. Fife has been nothing but reliable: she hasn’t tossed less than 11 strikeouts every time she’s pitched this season. Fife was also solid in the batter’s box, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Abigail Freeman was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Hannah Brown was another key contributor, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5.

Acadiana Christian’s loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2. As for Good Samaritan HomeSchool, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Acadiana Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Good Samaritan HomeSchool, they will head out on the road to challenge Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
