Eye On The Valley –Home And Garden Show, Empower Generations High School – March 15, 2024 — KHTS Radio — Santa Clarita Radio

Host: Matt Watson

Guests: Carl Goldman, Sajae Davison

On today’s episode of Eye On The Valley, your host Matt Watson welcomes KHTS Owner Carl Goldman in studio.  Carl and his wife Jeri are proud to once again put on the annual Home And Garden Show at Central Park.  This is the 13th year of the event, which only paused for two years due to the pandemic, and it will showcase 450 vendors including flooring, solar, landscaping as well as food trucks.  If you are interested in making any type of home improvements, this is the event to attend which offers homeowners a chance to talk one on one with potential local vendors and arrange for a new project.  Sponsored by Providence Holy Cross Medical Center and Southern California Edison, the event runs April 27 and 28th. Activities for kids will also be available, such as Gilcrest Farms petting zoo and the Fire Department’s demonstration of their trucks and the Jaws Of Life. A fun for all event, The Home And Garden Show is still taking applications for vendors and is free to the public.  Go to for more information.

In the second half of the show, Matt talks with Sajae Davison, Director of Empower Generations High School.  Empower Generations is part of the SCVi and iLead Schools with it’s campus in Lancaster.  Empower Generations focuses on grades 9-12 and has a unique feature that many schools may not have.  Focusing on the individual student, the program meets a student where they are in life.  Proudly offering a baby room for expecting and new parents, the school wants to take any potential hardship that may keep a student from attending a class.  Additionally,  students are able to work at their own pace and create a learning plan that fits their exact needs like being able to work from home.  A school counselor works with the student to develop a graduation plan by making them feel valued and building a happy environment that can reach beyond just academics.  The CTE or Career Technical Education Pathways offer early childhood education courses as well as arts, media and technology. Go to for more information on their upcoming events such as virtual sessions on March 19 and 26. Enrollment is open for this current school year and next. Call 661-429-3264. You can find more information on SCVi schools at  SCVi and iLead schools are a network of free, charter public schools with campuses in Agua Dulce, Castaic and Lancaster.
