House Education hears bill mandating naloxone in schools | Politics

The House Education Committee held its first two hearings last week on a bill that would mandate schools to carry medication to reverse an opioid overdose.

House Bill 202, sponsored by Rep. DeLena Johnson (R-Palmer), would require schools to carry at least two doses of naloxone spray, also called Narcan, on site and require schools to have a person trained to administer naloxone spray on site when school is in session, during weekend activities, during school-sponsored events, and on buses.
