Held on their home course of Cross Creek Golf Course, the Lions finished at +96, only three strokes behind the Buccaneers at +93.

Two Wallace State Lions finished in the top five, with sophomore Abby Gattis of Jacksonville coming in at No. 2 at +16, five strokes behind tournament’s individual winner, Peyton Maraman of Shelton State. Sophomore Aiden Haithcock of Hoover came in at No. 3, only one stroke behind Gattis.

Haithcock finished the highest for Wallace State in the Gulf Shores event, coming in at No. 4. Gattis and freshman Isabella Warwick of Huntsville tied at No. 6 and sophomore Sydney Eps of Water Valley, Miss., came in at 10th .

The team’s spring season began in February at Snead State Women’s Spring Invitational, where they finished in third place behind Calhoun Community College and Shelton State. Haithcock again finished in the top five for the tournament. Warwick finished in the No. 9 spot.

The women compete in the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Women’s Conference Tournament March 24-26 at Lake Golf Course at Goose Pond Colony Resort in Scottsboro, where they will try to repeat last year’s championship and return to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women’s South District Championship in May.
